Subtitle translation & Voiceovers

When the COVID pandemic struck, local medical practitioners, knowing that I was a medical translator, asked me to translate documents and audiovisual documentaries entailing immunology, vaccinology, virology, and specifically the dynamics of the pandemic and the benefits of sterilizing vaccines as compared to leaky vaccines. It was very technical work and entailed a great deal of research.

This being a direct customer, I purchased a suite of special-purpose software to manage the audiovisual translation and the voice-over. I studied the process, exported the source video soundtrack from the video file, and then created a rough draft of the subtitle file using voice-to-text software and checked for errors applying BBC audiovisual guidelines (the original video had not been subtitled). Next, I translated the .srt using special-purpose CAT software, respecting the timecodes. I recorded the translated subtitles and synced the resulting soundtrack with the original video. I reviewed for quality, fixed recording problematic tracts, and delivered a video with multi-language subtitles and a voice-over.
